Diploma of Business

Students must have demonstrated an IELTS score of at least 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old), or demonstrate successful completion of at least General English at Advanced Level or English for Academic Purposes Upper Intermediate level.

The Diploma of Business (BSB50120) at ACTB is 52 weeks in total, comprising 44 study weeks and 8 holiday weeks, with a study load of 20 classroom hours per week plus approximately 5 hours of self-study.

Graduates of the Diploma of Business may progress directly into the BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business or other higher-level Diplomas and Degrees (subject to entry requirements), or continue to higher education programs such as degrees in business or management.

Assessments are designed to simulate workplace tasks and include written assignments and reports, presentations, projects and workplace case studies, and role plays and observations. This blend of theory and practice ensures you are well prepared to transition smoothly into real workplace environments.

To achieve the Diploma of Business, students must complete 12 units of competency: 5 core units and 7 electives, covering areas such as sustainability, budgeting, resource management, workplace communication, critical thinking, project work, and marketing.
