About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of individuals in a variety of Business Services job roles. These individuals may have frontline management accountabilities. Individuals in these roles carry out moderately complex tasks in a specialist field of expertise that requires business operations skills. They may possess substantial experience in a range of settings, but seek to further develop their skills across a wide range of business functions. This qualification will be delivered over 78 weeks including 60 weeks of training and assessment and 18 weeks of holidays. You will be required to attend face to face 20 hours per week training and assessment in a classroom. Delivery sites: QLD – Gold Coast: Level 1, 9 Bay Street, SOUTHPORT, Queensland 4215 and NSW – Sydney: Level 6 16-18 Wentworth St, PARRAMATTA, New South Wales 2150.

Although the training package does not stipulate any entry requirements for this training product, HTA has the following entry requirements in place for international students: Be at least 18 years of age. Participate in a course entry interview (pre-enrolment review) to determine suitability of the course and additional support needs. Undertake HTA's ACSF Level 5 LLND assessment. Must have access to and bring their own portable device (laptop or iPad and other tablets with a keyboard) to class with up-to-date Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel). Must provide evidence of English Language proficiency as stated under the English Language requirements below. English Language Proficiency Requirements: You must have completed the English language test within two (2) years of the application date. Minimum scores: IELTS 6.0 (5.5 with 10 weeks ELICOS, 5.0 with 20 weeks ELICOS); TOEFL iBT 64 (46 with 10 weeks ELICOS, 35 with 20 weeks ELICOS) – only accepted if test taken on or before 25 July 2023; Cambridge English: Advanced 169 (162 with 10 weeks ELICOS, 154 with 20 weeks ELICOS); PTE Academic 50 (42 with 10 weeks ELICOS, 36 with 20 weeks ELICOS); Occupational English Test B for each test component. For domestic students: Be at least 18 years of age. Participate in a course entry interview (pre-enrolment review) to determine suitability of the course and additional support needs. Undertake HTA's ACSF Level 5 LLND assessment. Must have access to and bring their own portable device (laptop or iPad and other tablets with a keyboard) to class with up-to-date Microsoft Office suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Excel). For international students, it is a condition of entry that upon acceptance, you must provide evidence of having an Australian Student Visa (subclass 500).

How long does the Diploma of Business take to complete?

This qualification will be delivered over 78 weeks including 60 weeks of training and assessment and 18 weeks of holidays.

What are the class hours and timetable for this course?

You will be required to attend face to face 20 hours per week training and assessment in a classroom. Sample Weekly Timetable: Monday: 8am – 5pm (including 1 hour break); Tuesday: 8am – 5pm (including 1 hour break); Wednesday: 8am – 12.15pm (including 15-minute break).

What English language test scores do I need to enrol as an international student?

You must have completed the English language test within two (2) years of the application date. Minimum scores include: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 64 (only accepted if test taken on or before 25 July 2023), Cambridge English: Advanced 169, PTE Academic 50, or Occupational English Test B for each test component. Lower scores may be accepted with completion of ELICOS or Foundation programs.

You may enrol in the following qualification/s upon the completion of this program to further enhance your knowledge and skills: BSB60420 – Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management and BSB60120 – Advanced Diploma of Business.

Are there specialisations available within the Diploma of Business?

Yes, you may choose to enrol in any of the following specialisations: BSB50120 Diploma of Business (Operations), (Leadership), (Organisational Development), (Compliance), (Business Development), (Digital Transformation), (Records and Information Management), (Procurement), and (Evaluations). Enrolments in specialisations are subject to student numbers and availability of Trainers and Assessors at HTA. Each specialisation requires completion of a different set of electives.
