Common Questions
International students can apply via RMIT's Application Portal, either directly or through an authorised education agent. You will need to submit academic transcripts, graduation certificates, evidence of English language proficiency, and any other course-specific documents. Some applicants may be required to pay an application fee and are strongly encouraged to apply through an authorised agent.
For Semester 1 2026, the application deadline for Certificate IV, Diploma, and Advanced Diploma qualifications is 11 February 2026, with the last day to accept an offer being 13 February 2026. If an interview with International Admissions is required, you must attend by 8 January 2026 and accept your offer by 12 January 2026. For Semester 2 2026, selected RMIT courses are open for applications — check the course page for specific dates.
Yes, RMIT may recognise credit for previous study, which can reduce the duration of your qualification. You can apply for credit when you fill out your application. You will need to submit supporting documents such as transcripts and course outlines for review. Credit outcomes are communicated in your letter of offer.
You must meet RMIT's minimum English language requirements. Accepted options include an English language proficiency test (such as IELTS, TOEFL iBT, PTE Academic, or Cambridge), completion of studies from an accepted English language provider, or holding a recognised qualification. If you do not have a valid test result at the time of application, you can still submit your application and provide results later. RMIT will assess your English proficiency and may include an English language course offer if needed.
Most international students will need a Student Visa (subclass 500) to study in Australia. To apply, you must first receive a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from RMIT. It is recommended that you apply and accept your offer at least 4–8 weeks before your course start date to allow sufficient time for visa processing. Once your course begins, you can work up to 48 hours per fortnight during compulsory study periods.
Yes, RMIT offers pathways from vocational qualifications such as diplomas to undergraduate degree programs. Completing a diploma may provide guaranteed entry and credit towards a related RMIT degree, helping reduce study time. Specific pathway options can be found in the 'Pathways' section on the individual program page.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
