Common Questions
The course runs for 104 weeks in total, which includes 80 teaching weeks and 24 weeks of holidays. For specific term dates, students should refer to the Institute's Academic Calendar.
Applicants must have an IELTS Overall score of 6.0 or equivalent English proficiency (test results must be no more than 2 years old). Alternatively, English language competence can be demonstrated through evidence such as being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, completing a foundation course in Australia, or completing the College English Placement Test. Other tests such as PTE and TOEFL can also be accepted if results are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
Graduates may pursue employment as a Civil Construction Designer or Civil Engineering Draftsperson. They may also choose to continue their education into the RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design.
The program is delivered in the classroom at Level 3, 57 Sanders Street, Upper Mount Gravatt, QLD 4122.
Students must complete a total of 20 elective units covering areas such as CAD design, engineering mechanics, project management, civil construction design, mathematics, and building information modelling.
