The standard full-time qualification is delivered over 78 weeks, including 66 weeks of training and assessment spread over 6 terms and 12 weeks of holidays at 20 hours per week face to face study. However, students who have already completed the RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design may be eligible for a 42-week pathway (3 terms, no holidays) via credit transfer.
For the 18-month/78-week pathway, the Tuition Fee is $15,800 (AUD) plus a Material Fee of $1,000 (AUD). For the 42-week/9-month pathway, the Tuition Fee is $10,800 plus a Material Fee of $1,000 (AUD). Please note prices may vary if Credit Transfer is approved.
Upon completing the RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design, graduates can pursue employment as a Civil Construction Designer or Civil Design Draftsperson. Students may also continue their education into the Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, and further into higher education qualifications in Civil Construction or a Bachelor of Engineering (Civil).
This course is delivered on a face-to-face classroom-based mode, with various structured activities and industry excursions included. A distance mode is also employed, and all classroom-based training takes place at Perth College of Business and Technology. Assessment is competency based. The structured self-study component amounts to 4 hours a week, and students are also supported outside of face-to-face sessions through email and telephone contact with their trainer.
Yes, if you have previously completed a unit or units, you may be eligible for a credit transfer. You will need to complete a credit transfer application form and provide a certified copy of the transcript or statement of attainment. There is a fee for this process, and applications for credit transfer must be made prior to the commencement of the course.
