The tuition fee is AU$12,500 for both international and domestic students. There is also a mandatory resource fee of AU$2,000, a non-refundable enrolment fee of AU$250 payable at the time of enrolment, and international students are required to hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their student visa. Note that tuition fees are not fixed for the duration of enrolment and are reviewed annually.
Students enrolled in this course will need access to Microsoft Office applications (e.g., Microsoft Word) and Autodesk applications such as AutoCAD, AutoCAD 3D, and Revit. All enrolled students are provided with access to Microsoft 365 applications as part of their enrolment, and students enrolled in RII course packages will also receive access to Autodesk software through a student subscription at no additional cost.
Students must supply their own device meeting the following minimum specifications: 64-bit Windows 10 (Windows 11 preferred), Intel i3 8th Generation or higher processor at minimum 2.5 GHz, minimum 8 GB RAM (16 GB recommended), a minimum 2 GB DirectX 11 compatible graphics card, minimum 10 GB of available storage (SSD strongly recommended), and a reliable broadband internet connection. These specifications ensure students can run industry-standard software including AutoCAD and Revit.
Students who have successfully completed the RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design may seek enrolment in RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction or a relevant qualification at a CRICOS approved higher education provider. The career pathway from this qualification is Civil Engineering Draftsperson.
The course is delivered face-to-face in the classroom, including practical training and assessment. Classes are scheduled for 2½ days per week, and full-time study requires students to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours each week. The total duration is 62 weeks, comprising 50 weeks of study and 12 weeks of holidays. Learning activities include face-to-face discussions, practical training, group activities, industry excursions, and presentations.
