Common Questions
Graduates of the Diploma of Civil Construction Design (RII50520) can work as a Construction Supervisor, Civil Engineering Draftsperson, or Senior Civil Works Designer within the Resources and Infrastructure Industry.
Once students have successfully completed RII50520 Diploma of Civil Construction Design, they can progress to the RII60520 Advanced Diploma of Civil Construction Design, or pursue Higher Education programs with other education providers within the Resources and Infrastructure Industry sector, subject to meeting the entry requirements of the intended qualification.
For overseas students whose first language is not English, an overall IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent is required. Alternatively, students may pass an Abbey College Australia entry test designed to assess the level of English proficiency.
The course is delivered in a Blended mode (Face to Face + Online), with 15 hours of face-to-face learning and 5 hours of online learning per week, except during term breaks. The course duration is 104 weeks and is available at campuses in Sydney and Adelaide.
Students will develop skills to produce and develop civil construction design solutions, apply safe design principles in project work, prepare design plans, drawings and technical documentation, use design tools, technology and software effectively, coordinate design activities to meet client site requirements, and communicate and collaborate with project teams.
