About This Course

This qualification reflects the role of individuals working as designers or design paraprofessionals who support professional engineers. They perform tasks involving a high level of autonomy and requiring the application of significant judgement in planning and determining the selection of equipment/roles/techniques for themselves and others. They are required to develop site specific work designs to ensure the implementation of the client's site requirements. They demonstrate the application of a broad range of technical, managerial, coordination and planning skills.

Requirements

English Language Requirement: Minimum IELTS score of 6.0 or PTE score of 47 or Other English Language Test Score. In the absence of formal English qualifications Winslow College may proffer English Placement Test.
Academic Requirement: No prior academic requirements apply for this qualification; however, Winslow College requires successful completion of Australian Equivalent Year 12 qualification or higher.
Age Requirement: All applicants must be aged 18 years or over at the time of applying for admission to the course.
Language, Literacy and Numeracy (LLN) and Digital Literacy Requirement: Applicants will be required to undertake a LLN and Digital Literacy test to identify their capabilities prior to signing the Letter of Offer (LOO).
Course Specific Requirement: The use of Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) such as safety steel boots, high vest, gloves, and hard hat is mandatory during site visits.
Other: Applicants should have proficiency in digital literacy and MS Office skills (Word, Excel and Power Point). Applicants should be in possession of their personal computer (minimum configuration: Intel Core i3 sixth generation or newer, Microsoft Windows 10 Professional x64, 4 GB RAM, 120 GB internal storage).

Yes. Credit transfer is available for students with identified equivalence in content and learning outcomes between matched qualifications. Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is also available for candidates who have previously attained skills and knowledge from outside the formal education and training system, including work and life experience. Students may apply for RPL or Credit transfers for any unit in which they can successfully demonstrate competency.
