Upon finishing your Diploma of Communication you can directly enter into one of the following courses delivered by the Faculty of Arts and Design, with one year of credit: Bachelor of Arts (Creative Writing), Bachelor of Arts (Cultural Heritage), Bachelor of Arts (Digital Media), Bachelor of Arts (Film Production), Bachelor of Arts (Global Studies), Bachelor of Communication and Media (Journalism), Bachelor of Communication and Media (Corporate and Public Communications), Bachelor of Media (Marketing Communication), and Bachelor of Communication and Media (Sport Media).
The Diploma of Communication takes 1.0 years of standard full-time study, or specifically 2 terms (8 months) of full-time study. Part-time study is also available, with a maximum of 4 years from the date of commencement.
An overall IELTS Academic score (or equivalent) of 5.5 is required, with no band score below 5.5. Students who have undertaken all of their education in an English speaking country (as defined on the UC website) are deemed to have met the English language proficiency requirements.
The Diploma of Communication is offered across three trimesters per year. In 2026, teaching start dates are 02 March 2026 (Trimester 1), 29 June 2026 (Trimester 2), and 26 October 2026 (Trimester 3), all at UC College, Bruce, ACT. These intakes are open for both domestic and international admissions.
There are currently no formal credit transfer arrangements for entry to this course. Any previous study or work experience will only be considered as part of the application process in accordance with current course rules and university policy.
