The Diploma of Community Services (CHC52021) at ACVET costs $22,300 and takes 104 weeks to complete. Classes are held at the World Trade Centre campus in Docklands, Victoria.
Students are required to complete 400 hours of work placement in total. Specifically, 100 hours of work placement within the course structure are completed during Week 11 of terms 2, 4, 6, and 8 (25 hours per block). ACVET will assist students to find a work placement, or students can find their own. A trainer and assessor will visit during placement to discuss issues and conduct observations for assessment purposes.
Students must demonstrate English language competence equivalent to IELTS 6.0. This can be evidenced through accepted English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL, or by providing documented evidence of one of the following: being educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; completing at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO; or successful completion of an English Placement Test.
The Diploma of Community Services has six intake periods throughout the year: February, April, June, July, September, and November.
Before commencing work placement, learners are required to provide a Federal Police Check (name check) that is not older than 3 months, as well as evidence of up-to-date vaccination as required.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
