Common Questions
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of work placement as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. CTI could assist with finding suitable vocational placement with their partners in industry.
CTI requires evidence of an Advanced level of English, which can be demonstrated through an IELTS score of 6.0 or a PTE overall score of 50.
Students will need to source black leather enclosed shoes (nursing shoes) and black pants on their own. Students will also need a yellow card for placement. CTI will provide students with a name tag, a polo shirt with logo, and a logbook.
Students successfully completing this course could pursue roles in community care (aged care, disability services), mental health and counselling, family services, youth work, AOD and drug education, advocacy, schools, housing and community development, crisis intervention, and Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander services.
The Statutory & forensic child, youth & family welfare specialisation must be achieved in order to meet the minimum education requirements for child protection and youth justice practice in Victoria. In addition, to meet the minimum education requirements for entry into child protection practice in Victoria, diploma qualifications must be approved by the Australian Community Workers Association (ACWA).
