Common Questions
Community Work Australia (CWA) accreditation is a public declaration of quality that demonstrates SGSCC is committed to being the best it can be and that the course meets the exact expectations of students and the workplace. Accreditation standards have been set by a panel of educationalists, employers and practitioners. Graduates of SGSCC's accredited course can immediately demonstrate their eligibility for membership of CWA, which is often required by employers and, when it is not, provides graduates with a competitive edge.
Students are required to complete 400 hours of supervised work placement. The work placement is organised by SGSCC to give students practical experience and the opportunity to apply their learning in actual community service settings.
The course is delivered over 2 days per week, with students able to choose Monday & Tuesday OR Wednesday & Thursday, from 9am to 4:30pm at the Jannali campus.
Yes, this qualification is subsidised by the NSW Government. Prospective students can register to check their Smart & Skilled eligibility and student fee contribution.
After completing the Diploma of Community Services and being deemed competent, students can progress with SGSCC to the CHC62015 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
