For direct-entry students, the total course amount is $11,500.00 AUD, which includes an Application fee of $250.00, Tuition fee of $10,800.00, and a Resource fee of $500.00. KIC continuing students pay $11,450.00 in total (with a $450.00 Resource fee). A Commitment fee of $500.00 is also required, which is adjusted/credited back to the student's final term's instalment.
The total duration of the course is 52 weeks, comprising 40 academic weeks and 12 weeks of study breaks. Classes are scheduled 2 days per week (mandatory), with an additional day of academic support on Fridays, totalling 20 academic contact hours per week.
Yes, to achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 100 hours of work as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. Specifically, the unit CHCDEV005 requires a minimum of 100 hours in a work based training venue on a non-concurrent basis.
Students must complete KIC's Language, Literacy, Numeracy and Digital (LLND) test with at least a score equivalent to IELTS Academic 6.0 or IELTS General 6.0, PTE Academic 47, TOEFL iBT 67, C1 Advanced 161, OET 1210, CELPIP General 7, LANGUAGECERT Academic 61, or MET 53 as their overall test result. The course requires 20 units of competency in total: 12 core units and 8 elective units. The elective units are drawn from 3 electives from Group A (case management-focused units) and 5 from Group E (broader community services electives). The course runs over 40 academic weeks in total.
