Common Questions
The Diploma of Community Services (CHC52025) has a duration of 104 weeks, with intake dates available in February, March, May, June, July, August, October, November and December.
The tuition fee for the Diploma of Community Services is $20,000, with an additional Resource Material Fee of $499 for all prescribed resource materials. Please note that students are also required to organise and pay for their police check, first aid certificate, and similar requirements before commencing work-based training. Certain aged care or community service providers may charge a fee for work placements, which typically ranges from $150 to $500, to be paid by the student.
It is a requirement of this qualification that the student must complete at least 200 hours of work placement in an approved community services setting as detailed in the Assessment Requirements of units of competency. The work placement is scheduled at various stages of the course, and Rhodes College will organise work placement for all students.
After achieving this qualification, individuals could progress to CHC62015 – Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management or a Bachelor of Community Service or equivalent.
International students must meet one of the following English language requirements: an IELTS band score of 5.5 or equivalent, satisfactory completion of ELICOS at Upper Intermediate level, completion of an Australian Year 11 equivalent qualification from an English-speaking country (such as Australia, UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand, South Africa, or Republic of Ireland), completion of any Australian AQF Certificate III or higher qualification, satisfactory completion of at least one semester of study in Australia in a tertiary course, or completion of a Placement Test devised and administered by Rhodes College or a nominated accredited agency.
