The total tuition fee for the Diploma of Community Services is AUD $32,000 (AUD $4,000 per term over 8 terms). The course materials fee is $1,600. Additional fees include a Course Application Fee of AU$250.00, an Accommodation Placement Fee of AU$200.00, and an Airport Pick-up Fee of AU$200.00. International students are also required to hold Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC) for the duration of their study.
Yes, the qualification CHC52025 – Diploma of Community Services requires students to undertake 100 hours of Vocational/Fieldwork placement in a community services provider facility. These 100 hours must be completed over 24 months. Students are also required to complete two terms successfully (i.e., six months of study) prior to commencing any Fieldwork placement.
Students are required to complete a range of tasks as part of the assessment requirements for each unit, with each unit assessment taking approximately 5–10 hours outside of class hours. Assessment methods may include Short Answer Questions, Practical Demonstration (Simulation or Real Workplace), Logbook, Project/Presentations/Role play observed by the Assessor, and Third Party Reports from the Workplace. Within projects there may also be web-based research and reports, scenarios and case studies, business simulations, and presentations/role play observed by the Assessor.
Yes, students may apply for exemption for any unit in which they can successfully demonstrate competency in line with Pacific College of Technology's current RPL Policies. RPL and Credit Transfer (CT) can be applied for at the time of enrolment or during orientation, and the original or certified copy of relevant documentation must be provided. A fee is payable for assessing RPL status or processing a credit transfer. If credit is granted, international students may have their course and visa duration shortened.
A complete, clean, laundered and ironed uniform and correct footwear must be worn at all times while attending practical class. The uniform requirements include black or navy trousers, black or navy non-slip filled-in shoes (no heels), and an appropriate white or pastel-coloured short-sleeved shirt with a collar. Safety requirements include hair tied back, optimum personal hygiene, no jewellery on hands (except plain wedding bands), no chains, only stud earrings, trimmed fingernails (no nail polish), recommended light make-up only, and no body/face piercing. A name tag must be worn at all times whilst on placement.
