Common Questions
The course duration is 52 weeks (44 study weeks + 8 holiday weeks).
Students are required to complete 320 hours of supervised work placement to achieve competency.
Provide evidence of English proficiency: IELTS 6.0 (or equivalent, valid within 2 years) OR successful completion of General English (Advanced) / EAP (Upper Advanced).
Training is delivered face-to-face at ACTB's Brisbane campus (100 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006). Study load is 20 classroom hours per week + approx. 5 hours of self-study.
Graduates may progress into higher education degrees in social work, community services, youth work, or related disciplines (subject to university entry requirements), or into leadership positions within community services organisations. Career outcomes include Case Worker / Case Manager, Community Services Worker, Youth Worker, Family Support Worker, Program Coordinator, and Domestic and Family Violence Worker.
