Requirements

Learners must be a minimum age of 18 years or above at the time of course commencement.
Applicants should have successfully completed an Australian Year 12 (or an international secondary school year which is equivalent to Australian Year 12) with satisfactory results, OR successful completion of a recognised Foundation Studies program in Australia, OR successful completion of the International Baccalaureate Certificate, OR successful completion of an Australian qualification of AQF level 5.
Applicants must provide evidence of IELTS Academic or General band 6.0 overall, or an equivalent English proficiency test completed within 2 years from the application date. Equivalents include: CELPIP General overall band 7, LANGUAGECERT Academic overall band 61, Michigan English Test overall band 53, Occupational English Test overall band 1210, Pearson Test of English Academic overall band 47, TOEFL iBT total band 67.
Lower IELTS scores may be accepted with ELICOS: IELTS 5.5 with 10 weeks of ELICOS, or IELTS 5.0 with 20 weeks of ELICOS.
English requirements may be waived for applicants who have: a minimum of 5 years of study in English in Australia, Canada, New Zealand, Britain, America, South Africa or Ireland; hold citizenship and a passport from the UK, USA, Canada, New Zealand or Republic of Ireland; completed at least 70% of an AQF level 4 or higher qualification in Australia in English within the past 2 years; successfully completed the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education in Australia in English within the past 2 years; or completed an ELICOS program achieving upper intermediate English level within 2 years.
All international learners must undergo a pre-training review to determine suitability and identify support needs.
All students must complete an LLND (Language, Literacy, Numeracy, and Digital) evaluation prior to enrolment.
Students must declare there is no reason they would not be able to obtain an Australian National Police Clearance.
Mandatory placement requirements: annual Influenza vaccination by 15 August, COVID-19 vaccination, and Working with Children Check (WWCC) for certain healthcare workers.
Students must have access to a laptop or computer with Windows operating system and Microsoft Office applications.
Applicants must provide documentation according to Department of Home Affairs requirements for student visa purposes.
To achieve this qualification, the candidate must have completed at least 2 blocks of 200 hours of work placement.
