Yes, the ACC Diploma of Counselling is accredited with the Australian Counselling Association (ACA). Students can join as student members during their studies, and upon graduation, they are eligible to register as Level 1 members, enabling them to practice as counsellors.
The Diploma course can be completed in 2 years studied full-time, with part-time study options also available. To complete the Diploma of Counselling, 17 units of competency are required, including 13 core units and 4 elective units, totalling approximately 1,200 hours of study.
The course is delivered at three campuses: Sydney (24 Euston St, Rydalmere NSW 2116), Melbourne (5 Burwood Highway, Wantirna VIC 3152), and Brisbane (124 Nemies Rd, Runcorn QLD 4113). Each campus is equipped with a projector, tables, chairs, tea area, kitchen, library, air conditioning, and resting area.
Students complete a range of assignments including Journals, Written Assessments, Essays, Reports, Open Book Tests, Oral Tests, Presentations, Small Group Discussions, Counselling Practice, Interviews, and Reading Materials. Results are recorded as either Competent (C) or Not Yet Competent (NYC). Students who receive a Not Yet Competent result have a second chance to resubmit their assignment.
Yes, this course was specifically designed to train Korean and other ethnic communities, and the training will be delivered in their own languages. A recognition of prior learning strategy may also be utilised for students with previous qualifications, knowledge, skills, and work experience.
