No ATAR is required to apply for the Diploma of Design (Visual Communication). Applicants need to have completed Year 12 or equivalent, attend an admissions interview, and provide a portfolio. The minimum age at course commencement is 17 years old.
Yes. On completion of the Diploma of Design (Visual Communication), you'll have a direct and seamless pathway into the Bachelor of Design (Visual Communication) with full credit for your completed trimesters, so you can continue developing your skills without starting over.
You will develop core skills in design thinking and visual communication, foundations in typography, layout, branding and UI, how to develop ideas through research and iteration, visual storytelling and concept development, and practical design workflows used in studio practice. You'll also get hands-on with Adobe Creative Cloud and core design software from day one.
The Diploma of Design (Visual Communication) is offered at JMC Academy's Sydney and Melbourne campuses. Intakes are available in February, June, and September at both campuses.
Yes, all Design courses are FEE-HELP eligible for domestic students, meaning tuition fees can be deferred through the FEE-HELP scheme.
