Common Questions
Students must complete 280 hours of Work Integrated Learning (WIL) for the Diploma. If enrolled in the joint Certificate III and Diploma courses, a total of at least 440 hours (CHC30121 160hrs + CHC50125 280hrs) of work in a regulated children's education and care service in Australia is required.
For domestic students, the full tuition fee is $6,900, while government subsidised training is available at a reduced fee of $680. An amenities fee of $350 and a student services fee of $250 also apply. For international students, the tuition fee is $19,400. Scholarships are also available — please enquire for details.
Before going on WIL, students are required to have a COVID-19 vaccination (additional vaccinations may be required based on the National Immunisation Program), a Department of Human Services Working with Children Check, and a Child Safe Environments Certificate. All vaccinations, certificates, and background checks are at the student's expense.
Yes. If you have related prior education and experiences, you may be eligible for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL). If you have successfully completed units of competency from this qualification previously, you may be eligible for National Recognition (Credit Transfer).
If you do not hold a CHC30121 or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, you may alternatively hold an Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or an Australian diploma or certificate III in Children's Services, AND demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia. You may also hold the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, or package the Certificate III with the Diploma through EQUALS.
