Common Questions
This course requires a minimum of 280 hours of work placement at a registered early childhood education and care facility. An optional 400 hours of paid placement is also available. The placement is organised and managed by Academia, which has strong industry partnerships with over 60 registered early childhood facilities across Melbourne.
You must hold a CHC30125 or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care before starting the Diploma. If your qualifications are older, Academia may accept them if you hold an Australian Diploma or Certificate III in Children's Services and can demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative full-time equivalent employment within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia, or if you hold the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Assessment methods include written tests, projects, assignments, and industry placements, providing a holistic evaluation of students' understanding and knowledge of early childhood education and care practices. This approach ensures that graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the early childhood industry and make a positive impact on the lives of children and families.
Graduates may pursue a range of career pathways including Early Childhood Educator (ECE), Family Day Care Educator, Kindergarten Educator, Curriculum Leader, Childcare Centre Manager/2IC, and Childcare Centre Director or Assistant Director.
Yes. If you are interested in obtaining the CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care but have not yet completed the Certificate III course, Academia provides a course package that allows students to study both the Certificate III and the Diploma courses. The packaged CRICOS duration is 104 weeks.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
