You are required to complete 280 hours of vocational placement to satisfy the vocational placement component of your qualification. Completing placement is compulsory, and students can only be placed once they have successfully completed the Working with Children Check (Blue Card application). Any additional fees are at the student's own cost.
Applicants must meet one of the following English proficiency requirements: IELTS 5.0; completion of CCEB Upper-Intermediate level; B2 Level of CEFR – Common European Framework; or, in the 2 years before applying for the student visa, completion in Australia and in the English language of either the Senior Secondary Certificate of Education or a substantial component of a course leading to a qualification from the Australian Qualifications Framework at the Certificate IV or higher level, while holding a student visa.
A range of assessments are employed for this training program and the type of assessment is dependent on the nature of the unit of competency. Assessments include demonstrations, observations, projects, presentations, knowledge tests, reports and interviews.
The CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care comprises 15 units packaged as 12 core units plus 3 elective units. Students must successfully complete all 12 core units and 3 elective units to achieve the qualification.
In 2026, intake dates are 13 July (enrolments must be submitted by 12/06/26) and 6 October (enrolments must be submitted by 4/09/26). In 2027, intake dates are 25 January (enrolments by 11/12/26), 19 April (enrolments by 19/03/27), 12 July (enrolments by 11/06/27), and 5 October (enrolments by 3/09/27).
