Common Questions
The domestic full fee for the Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is $8,441, and the international (student visa) fee is $10,000. Additional fees include an enrolment fee of $250 and a material fee of $500.
Students are required to complete 280 hours of industry placement as part of the training and assessment activity for this course.
Students must hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, be eligible to hold a Blue Card (must not have a criminal record), hold a Year 12 Australian Senior High School Certificate or equivalent, and demonstrate Upper-Intermediate English (equivalent to 5.5 academic or general IELTS).
Graduates can articulate into several university programs, including Southern Cross University's Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary) with 1 unit credit, Southern Cross University's Bachelor of Arts/Bachelor of Education (Primary/Early Childhood) with 3 units credit, Griffith University's Bachelor of Child, Youth and Family Practice with articulation up to 70 credits, and the University of Southern Queensland's Bachelor of Early Childhood (BECH) or Bachelor of Education (Early Childhood) (BEED) with articulation of 8 units each.
The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care is available at EduCare's Brisbane Centre Campus (316 Adelaide Street, Brisbane) and the Gold Coast Centre 2 Campus. At the Brisbane campus, classes are held Monday and Thursday from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm and Tuesday from 9:00 am to 1:00 pm. The course offers 19 contact hours per week and intakes run approximately every 8 weeks.
