Common Questions
The course duration is 52 weeks including holidays and 300 hours of work placement.
All students must be 18 years of age or older and must have completed a Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care – either CHC30113 or CHC30121. International students also need to meet English language requirements such as an IELTS score of 5.5 or above with no band under 5.0, and must have completed education equivalent to Year 12.
AHSI will organise work placement opportunities for students and where possible in organisations located close to their address. Students are required to complete 300 hours of work placement. To participate, students must hold a Working with Children Check, a National Criminal Police Check, a First Aid Course certificate, and be up to date with immunisations including COVID-19.
This qualification consists of 15 units of competency made up of 12 core units and 3 elective units, covering areas such as childcare management and educator practice.
This qualification provides a pathway for students to continue their studies and enhance their skills through higher education providers.
