Common Questions
The course runs for 78 weeks in total, which includes 62 weeks of classroom-based training and assessment, plus 16 weeks of school breaks. Students study 20 hours of face-to-face training per week.
The total fees are $18,800, which includes a Tuition Fee of $17,500, a non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $300, and a Study Material Fee of $1,000 per year.
Students are required to complete 280 hours of work placement in a regulated Early Childhood Education and Care facility, where they will work as a volunteer student during the placement.
Applicants must hold a CHC30121 or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care, or alternatively an Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or a Certificate III in Children's Services with at least 12 months of cumulative employment in a regulated education and care service within the last 5 years, or the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care. Additionally, students must provide an IELTS score of 6 or above (or equivalent), obtain a National Police Clearance Certificate and Work with Children Check, and complete the College's LLND skills assessment and a pre-enrolment interview.
Some universities offer credit from the Diploma qualification to enrol in Early Childhood teaching qualifications. Alternatively, the CHC60215 Advanced Diploma of Community Sector Management is a great qualification for those aiming to hold a management position in an ACECQA approved service.
