The course fees include a tuition fee of A$14,000, an enrolment fee of A$200, and a material fee of A$1,750.
Yes, work placement is compulsory. The college will organise 280 hours of compulsory work placement as part of the course. Before commencing work placement, learners are required to provide a Federal Police Check (no more than 6 months old), a Working with Children Check, and evidence of up-to-date vaccination as required.
Applicants must hold either CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Alternatively, they may hold an Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, or an Australian diploma or Certificate III in Children's Services, along with at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia. Individuals may also qualify by holding the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
After completing this qualification, individuals may undertake studies at a higher level of education. AIDT also recognises AQF and VET qualifications and Statements of Attainment for course credit, and students may apply for Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) for relevant prior experience.
The course is delivered face-to-face at Level 1, 377 Lonsdale Street, Melbourne, Victoria 3000, both in the classroom and in a simulated environment, as well as in the workplace. It is a full-time course running for 52 weeks at 20 hours per week including holidays. Assessment methods include written work, project, logbook/third party report and observations.
