About This Course

The Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care (CHC50125) prepares you for advanced roles as an educator in the early childhood sector. This qualification reflects the role of educators who design and implement curriculum, lead teams, and ensure compliance with regulatory frameworks in long day care, family day care, kindergartens, and preschools. You will learn to analyse and apply theoretical concepts, design inclusive learning programs, nurture children's creativity and wellbeing, and support families and communities. Graduates are ready to take on leadership and coordination responsibilities, supervising staff and volunteers while fostering high-quality early learning environments. Training is delivered face-to-face at ACTB's Brisbane campus (100 Brunswick Street, Fortitude Valley QLD 4006).

Entry is open to individuals who hold CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. This course is available to all international students and ACTB requires that students are able to provide evidence that they: Have demonstrated an IELTS level at score of least 6.0 or equivalent (test results must be no more than 2 years old) or demonstration of successful completion of at least General English at Upper Advanced or English for Academic Purposes Upper Advanced level. Have a suitable level of language, literacy and numeracy to complete course requirements with or without additional support that ACTB is able to provide. Are at least at age of 18 on the date of course commencement. Have successfully completed Australian year 12 or equivalent OR minimum of 2 years of industry experience OR be of mature age with sound literacy and numeracy skills. Student must obtain a valid Working with Children Check and a AFP National Police Check certificate with no criminal records reported/recorded. These documents are to be obtained by students at their own cost. All the students commencing this course are required to complete LLND to be conducted during the time of admission to assist ACTB to identify student's needs for additional support during their study with ACTB. It is highly recommended that student should have successfully completed CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or its equivalent successor) OR CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Alternatively, individuals may hold: An Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care OR An Australian diploma or certificate III in Children's Services. AND Demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia, supported by verifiable evidence. OR Hold the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
