Common Questions
The course has monthly start dates — students may commence any Monday. The total duration is 50 weeks, broken down into 38 weeks of study, 4 weeks of supervised study, and 8 weeks of holidays.
Students must meet at least one of the following English requirements: an Upper Intermediate Certificate or higher, a Certificate IV level or higher qualification completed in Australia, an IELTS score of 5.5–6, FCE Grade B or C, CAE 160–179, TOEFL 72–94, TOEIC 400–485 (listening) / 385–450 (reading), or the Entrepreneur Education English Test at Upper Intermediate level. The English test must have been taken within two years before the application or before the grant of the visa.
Graduates may pursue roles such as authorised supervisor, centre manager, team coordinator at a childcare facility, child care worker, child development worker, children's services coordinator, or children's adviser. Graduates may also choose to continue their studies with a university degree in Education or Community Services.
Yes, students are required to have continual access to their own laptop computer during class and outside of class to meet distance education requirements. Students are also required to obtain a Blue Card for working with children. Please note that students are required to purchase these items at their own expense.
You may be eligible for Credit Transfers if you hold the same unit(s) from another provider. To be eligible, you must present your certified qualification at enrolment stage, together with the completed 'Course Credit Form'. Once assessed, you will be notified of the outcome. Should your achieved units be equivalent, your CoE/course duration will be reduced according to the amount of time needed to complete the outstanding units.
