Course Overview
This qualification reflects the role of educators in early childhood education and care who work in regulated children's education and care services in Australia. Educators at this level are responsible for designing and implementing curriculum that meets the requirements of an approved learning framework and for maintaining compliance in other areas of service operations. They use specialised knowledge and analyse and apply theoretical concepts to diverse work situations. They may have responsibility for supervision of volunteers or other educators. Early childhood educators work in long day care centres, family day care, pre-schools or kindergartens.
Option 1: Standard Pathway – Duration: 52 weeks including 12 weeks of holidays. Work Based Training of 12 weeks @ 24 hours per week (total=288 hours). International Students: $9,800 + Materials Fee $680*. Delivery: Face-to-Face Classroom-Based Learning, Distance Learning and Assessment (Online), Structured Learning Activities, Work-Based Training. Location: Perth. CRICOS Code: 118595K.
Option 2: Intensive Pathway – Duration: 36 weeks (this course includes no holidays). Work Based Training of 8 weeks @ 38 hours per week (total=304 hours). Domestic Students: $6,600 + Material Fee $680*. Delivery: Face-to-Face Classroom-Based Learning, Distance Learning and Assessment (Online), Structured Learning Activities, Work-Based Training. Location: Perth. CRICOS Code: 118595K. Classes are rostered for 3 days per week + Self-study component. Full-Time studies require students to attend a minimum of 20 scheduled course contact hours per week.

Common Questions
There are two pathway options. Option 1 (Standard Pathway) has a duration of 52 weeks including 12 weeks of holidays. Option 2 (Intensive Pathway) has a duration of 36 weeks (this course includes no holidays). Note: Course duration does not include any holidays, where your schedule includes a term break/holiday, this time will be added to your overall course duration.
For the Standard Pathway, International Students pay $9,800 + Materials Fee $680*. For the Intensive Pathway, Domestic Students pay $6,600 + Material Fee $680*. Easy payment plans are available. Funding is also available for Local Students ONLY under the Jobs and Skills WA Program with a Course Fee of $0.00 (eligibility criteria apply).
Entry to this qualification is open to individuals who hold a CHC30121 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care or CHC30113 Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care. Alternatively, individuals may hold an Australian diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care or an Australian diploma or certificate III in Children's Services. AND demonstrate at least 12 months of cumulative employment (full-time equivalent) within the last 5 years in a regulated education and care service in Australia, supported by verifiable evidence. Or hold the CHCSS00147 Entry into Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care.
Students undertaking this course must be able to obtain the following to complete the Work-Based Training component: Current Working with Children Check (WWCC) and National Police Clearance (WA). All fees/charges associated with the additional documentation listed above are not included in course tuition fees and payment is the responsibility of the student.
On completion of the CHC50125 Diploma of Early Childhood Education and Care, students may pursue a bachelors degree at Stanley College or selected Bachelor courses at Universities.
