The Diploma of Engineering Fast Track provides guaranteed* entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at the University of Wollongong (UOW). You will gain the skills to succeed in your UOW bachelor and cover core first-year engineering subjects, blending theoretical and practical components for hands-on experience in fundamental engineering areas and explore various engineering disciplines, including maths and physics. You will also graduate with a Higher Education Diploma to help get you into the workforce while completing your bachelor's degree. Upon successful completion of this course, you will gain guaranteed entry into the second year of a Bachelor of Engineering (Honours) at UOW (all specialisations), receiving credit for 8 subjects (48 credit points). The guarantee is subject to meeting UOW entry requirements as described in the course outline.
The course consists of two sessions, each lasting 14 weeks. UOW College offers three intakes each year, giving you the flexibility to start your studies at different times throughout the year.
For recent secondary education applicants, the minimum requirements are an ATAR of 60; or 3 HSC Subjects ≥70%; or 2 HSC Subjects ≥75%; and a minimum 50% in HSC Year 12 Mathematics Advanced. Applicants with VET qualifications, work and life experience, or who are Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander students may also be considered.
