Course Overview

About This Course

The Diploma of Health Science is a one-year, AQF Level 5 qualification that builds foundational knowledge in biological and social sciences. Students learn how the human body functions, alongside core concepts in chemistry and evidence-based practice, with electives and specialisations available in public health, naturopathy, nutrition and Chinese medicine so the course can be tailored to individual career goals. Learning outcomes include understanding the core principles of biological and social sciences, exploring how the body functions and maintains health in different environments, developing an understanding of health theories and initiatives to improve outcomes, and refining research skills with a focus on evidence-based practice.

Graduates are eligible to apply for Associate membership with the Complementary Medicine Association (CMA) and may also apply for membership with the Australian Traditional Medicine Association (ATMS), subject to meeting additional requirements. The qualification can lead straight into the workforce or serve as a pathway into further study in Natural Therapies or Public Health. The course is offered online and on campus at Sydney, Melbourne and Brisbane, full time over one year or part time over two years, and is delivered by Torrens University Australia Ltd.

Hear From the Students

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
