Common Questions
Successful completion of the Diploma of Health Sciences program with a Biomedical Science (Pre-Health) pathway guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences or Bachelor of Health Sciences programs, with a possible 80 credit points credited towards their degree. Successful completion with an Exercise and Sports Science pathway guarantees students a place in the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Performance (with a possible 80 credit points) or the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science (with a possible 60 credit points).
The Diploma of Health Sciences can be completed in just 8 months (2 semesters) studying full-time, after which you can start your chosen bachelor's degree at the third semester mark. The program also allows you to customise your subject load — starting with one or two subjects part-time and building to full-time as your confidence grows.
Bond University College offers an intensive skills program in the first weeks covering essay writing, critical reading, study techniques, time management and more. There is more face-to-face teaching time in small group classes, access to one-on-one tutoring, workshops, and targeted study help through the Academic Skills Centre. Students also have access to all Bond University and Faculty of Health Sciences and Medicine facilities including laboratories, a pathology museum, clinics, and Bond's extracurricular Transformer program.
The Diploma of Health Sciences has two pathways: a) Biomedical Science (Pre-Health), which includes Cell Biology as a subject and leads to the Bachelor of Biomedical Sciences or Bachelor of Health Sciences; and b) Exercise and Sports Science, which includes Foundations of Exercise and Sport Science as a subject and leads to the Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Performance or Bachelor of Exercise and Sports Science.
