Common Questions
Prior to commencing this qualification, individuals must have completed specific units of competency including AHCCHM304, AHCCHM307, AHCPCM308, AHCPMG301, AHCPMG302, AHCSOL304, and AHCWHS302 (or equivalents). International students must also be at least 18 years of age, have completed Year 12 equivalent or higher, participate in a pre-training review, and demonstrate English proficiency with an IELTS score of 6.0 or equivalent.
The course runs for 52 weeks at 20 hours per week. Participants will attend four sessions per week, which remain constant throughout the course.
Graduates of the Diploma of Horticulture Management can confidently apply for high-level supervisory and management positions across the industry, including management positions in retail and wholesale nurseries, head of grounds maintenance for country clubs and resorts, senior parks and gardens roles within council services, and management roles at major visitor attractions and theme parks.
Yes, Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is possible for formal training, informal training, and past experience. During the course, students will also be required to sit a range of practical and written assessments.
Students must comply with the Work Health and Safety Act and wear minimum protective equipment, including protective footwear compliant with AS2210 safety standards, neat casual clothing and a broad-brimmed hat, ear muffs/plugs and non-fogging safety glasses, as well as sunglasses, sunscreen, and a water bottle as standard WHS requirements for outdoor practicals.
