Common Questions
To enrol in this course, students must be 18 years and above, hold a minimum IELTS band 6.0 or equivalent, have schooling equivalent to Australian Year XII, and demonstrate competence in language, literacy and numeracy levels prior to commencing the course by undertaking the LLN test.
The course runs for 52 weeks in total, comprising 48 study weeks plus 4 weeks of holidays.
The course is delivered face-to-face at two locations in Melbourne: classroom-based theory sessions are held at Level 9, 601 Bourke Street, Melbourne VIC 3000, and practical training kitchen sessions are conducted at 54-56 La Trobe Street, Melbourne, VIC 3000.
This is a competency-based program. Assessment may include underpinning knowledge questions, assignments, practical tests, case studies and role plays, as well as practical observations, written questions, and oral questioning.
This qualification provides a pathway to work in any hospitality industry sector as a departmental or small business manager.
