Students are required to complete a minimum of 38 instances totalling 114 hours (a minimum of 3-hour shifts X 38 Shifts) of work placement training for the unit SITHIND008 Work effectively in hospitality service. Students need to find a suitable Hospitality workplace like a restaurant, hotel, or catering company and can work in any of the following Hospitality departments: Kitchen operations, Housekeeping, Front office or Food and Beverage service.
The Tuition Fee for the Diploma of Hospitality Management is $10,000, plus a non-refundable Enrolment Fee of $200.
Applicants must demonstrate English proficiency through an IELTS overall score of 6.0, a PTE Academic score of 50 if the test is undertaken before 6 August 2025 (or 47 if undertaken after 7 August 2025), or an equivalent Language, Literacy and Numeracy qualification. AIC staff will also review applicants' language, literacy and numeracy skills during the application process with writing tasks and one-on-one interviews.
Students who complete the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management are provided with advice of further training options and can further their study in the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.
The course is delivered in a blended mode comprising 13.5 hours per week of face-to-face learning and 6.5 hours per week of online learning, for a total of 20 hours per week, over a duration of 52 weeks.
