Common Questions
You may only apply for a student visa after you have received a Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE) from Australian College of Studies. To receive a CoE, you must formally accept the placement offer, return your signed acceptance form with the required course deposit, and purchase Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC).
You should bring a valid passport including a valid student visa, your Confirmation of Enrolment (CoE), insurance policies, and original or certified copies of documents such as your birth certificate, medical records, and educational qualifications as advised by Australian College of Studies at the time of confirmation of enrolment. It is recommended to carry all documentation in your carry-on luggage.
Yes, there is an International Student Welcome Desk at Sydney International Airport staffed by local and international student volunteers. The desk is located beside the Airport Ambassador's desk in Arrivals Hall A of the International Terminal, and is open from 7:00–11:00am and 6:00–10:00pm, seven days a week during peak periods. Volunteers offer orientation advice including accommodation and transport information.
As a student visa holder, you must satisfy attendance and/or course progress requirements, maintain a valid enrolment, only work if permitted by your visa, maintain approved Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC), notify your training provider of your Australian address within 7 days of any change, complete your course within the duration specified in the CoE, and remain with the principal education provider for 6 months unless issued a letter of release.
It is recommended that you change your money into Australian dollars before departing, as exchange rates at Australian international airports may be less favourable than bank rates. You should avoid carrying large sums of cash and instead bring enough for the first few days, then arrange to have the remainder transferred to you in Australia. The amount needed will depend on whether you have pre-arranged accommodation.

Honestly I was lost when I first started looking at Australian colleges. There are just too many options and every agent gives you different info. A friend told me about FindTheCourses and within a week I had shortlisted 3 programs that actually matched my budget and visa situation. My advisor Sanjay was super helpful — never felt like I was being pushed into anything.
