Diploma of Hospitality Management

SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who combine a broad range of hospitality skills with managerial skills and sound industry knowledge to coordinate hospitality operations. Graduates operate independently, are responsible for others, and make a range of operational business decisions as a departmental or small business manager across restaurants, hotels, motels, catering, clubs, pubs, cafés and coffee shops.

At Atlantis College this qualification is delivered as a packaged pathway: successful completion of SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management is mandatory before undertaking this training plan. Across its unit set (core units include managing operational plans, enhancing customer service experiences, budgeting, regulatory compliance, rostering and business relationships, plus electives in staff recruitment, menu costing and stock control), students build on the practical cookery and kitchen-supervisory skills from the earlier qualifications.

Delivery is face-to-face across classrooms, training kitchens and industry work-based training venues, with work placement covering 12 complete food service periods. Graduates may progress to the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management or further hospitality/management study.
