The tuition fees for the Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT50422) are AU$32,000. Additional fees include a Course Application Fee of AU$200.00, an Accommodation Placement Fee of AU$200.00, and an Airport Pick-up Fee of AU$200.00. Note that duration and fee structure may vary for packaged offers.
For cookery classes, students will undertake training and assessment in a commercial kitchen. For other hospitality units, students will participate in simulated hospitality settings. These sessions provide an environment for students to work on practical learning for each unit. Practical activities, scenarios and role plays are provided in classes no bigger than 20 students. Kitchens are fully equipped with large and small commercial equipment. Students should also be aware that the course requires physical tasks including manual handling such as inventory and using commercial cooking equipment in a commercial kitchen setting.
After completing this course, students may wish to further their studies with the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management at Pacific College of Technology, or other relevant undergraduate programs in other Colleges and universities throughout Australia.
The course is delivered in a blended mode combining classroom, practical and online delivery across 80 weeks of actual delivery over 8 Terms. International students are required to attend a minimum of 20 hours per week of scheduled contact hours, made up of 16 hours of classroom-based face-to-face delivery per week and 4 hours of compulsory e-learning administered via the MyPCT portal per week.
Yes, students may apply for exemption for any unit in which they can successfully demonstrate competency, in line with Pacific College of Technology's current RPL Policies. Please refer to the RPL policy and procedure as documented in the Student Handbook for further details.
