Common Questions
There are two fee options available. Option 1 (104-week package including Certificate III in Commercial Cookery + Certificate IV in Kitchen Management + Diploma of Hospitality Management) has an Administration Fee of $100.00, Resource Fees of $500.00, and Tuition Fees of $23,000.00. Option 2 (135-week package that also includes the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management) has an Administration Fee of $100.00, Resource Fees of $600.00, and Tuition Fees of $26,000.00.
Student visa applicants must provide results from an approved English language test. ASMI accepts the TOEFL iBT, IELTS, PTE Academic, and Cambridge English Advanced (CAE). The minimum required scores are: IELTS 6.0, TOEFL iBT 64, PTE 50, or CAE 169.
The course is offered classroom-based in Brisbane and Sydney, combining classroom and workplace-based training and assessment methods including written assessment and portfolio of evidence. An RPL (Recognition of Prior Learning) option is also available across Australia, delivered externally through a combination of written evidence assessment, practical observation, and competency conversations, with duration and fees determined by the quality of evidence submitted.
All students are required to have access to a computer and the Microsoft Office suite, as well as Chef whites and Knives.
After completing this qualification, graduates can work in any hospitality industry sector and for a diversity of employers including restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops. Students may also have the opportunity to progress into the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (CRICOS Course Code: 110353D).
