About This Course

This SIT50422 – Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification reflects the role of highly skilled senior operators who use a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of industry to coordinate hospitality operations. They operate independently, have responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions.

Entry Requirements

General Requirements

Be at least 18 years of age
Have successfully completed the course SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management (exceptions apply)
Participate in a course entry discussion to determine suitability for the course and student needs
Have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old)
English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of any of the following: educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country; or completed at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course in an Australian RTO; or successful completion of an English Placement Test
Other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL can be accepted, provided results are confirmed equivalent to IELTS 6.0
*Students who have successfully completed the course SIT30821 Certificate III in Commercial Cookery or other superseded cookery qualifications or units may also be able to apply for this course and obtain credit transfer

How long does the Diploma of Hospitality Management take to complete?

The course duration is 78 weeks (60 Academic weeks + 18 Weeks Holidays). However, SCCM students who have successfully completed the course SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management will obtain credit transfer of the units which accounts for one year of full-time study, reducing the course duration to 26 weeks.

What are the total fees for the Diploma of Hospitality Management?

The total course cost is AUD 19,250, which includes a Tuition Fee of $18,000, an Enrollment Fee of $250, and a Material Fee of $1,000.

What English language requirements must international students meet?

International students must have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old).
