Common Questions
There are two pathways: the Hospitality Pathway is delivered over 52 weeks (36 study weeks) following completion of the SIT40422 Certificate IV in Hospitality, with a tuition fee of $8,000 payable in four instalments of $2,000 each, plus a $200 enrolment fee and $200 materials fee. The Kitchen Management Pathway is delivered over 28 weeks (18 study weeks) following completion of the SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, with a tuition fee of $4,000 payable in two instalments of $2,000 each, plus a $200 enrolment fee and $100 materials fee.
Overseas students must demonstrate at least an Upper Intermediate (IELTS 6.0 or equivalent) level of English prior to commencement of the course.
This course is delivered full-time with 20 contact hours each study week using a blended delivery mode — two-thirds of contact hours is via face-to-face mode and one-third is via distance mode using an e-Learning platform. Additional self-directed study at home is also required to achieve the desired course outcomes. This course will not be assessed online or in a live workplace.
Students who successfully complete this course will be issued with a SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management. A Statement of Attainment will be issued to students who partially complete this course. All certification documentation will be issued by Cachet Training Pty Ltd trading as VIA Education.
Employment outcomes from this qualification may include roles such as Hospitality Manager, Motel Manager, Sous Chef, or Restaurant Manager. Upon successful completion, students may also elect to undertake further studies in the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management.
