The tuition fee for the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management is A$19,500, with an additional non-tuition fee of A$750. Course fees do not include computer software or textbooks, which must be purchased at the student's own cost. A detailed payment plan and payment arrangements are provided in the letter of offer and written agreement.
Yes, students may apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. For international students, the granting of course credit may affect course fees as well as the duration of the course. For example, students who have completed the SIT40521 Certificate IV in Kitchen Management from TKL College may have 16 units credited, reducing the delivery to 26 weeks, while students who completed SIT40516 Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery from TKL College may have 12 units credited, reducing delivery to 39 weeks.
After completing the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management, students may wish to study the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (CRICOS CODE: 111049D) or higher education qualifications in management.
International applicants must demonstrate English language competence through an IELTS score of 6.0 with no band less than 5.5 or equivalent. Alternatively, competence can be demonstrated through completion of a Certificate III or at least 6 months of a Certificate IV level course or above in an Australian college, completion of an Advanced level English course from an approved ELICOS provider, an English Placement Test (EPT), or other tests such as PTE and TOEFL (results must confirm equivalence to IELTS 6.0). Students who do not meet the English language requirements may undertake an English Language Intensive Course for Overseas Students (ELICOS).
Assessment will occur through a variety of methods, including projects incorporating role-plays, case studies and short answer questions. Students must supply their own laptop with Microsoft Office software (e.g. Office 365 Personal) that includes Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint & Publisher. For printing completed assessments, students will need their own USB. Note that for international students, satisfactory course progress is required to meet visa requirements.
