The Diploma of Hospitality Management is available at two locations: Melbourne and Adelaide. The practical component of the course is delivered in Albright approved commercial kitchens in both Melbourne and Adelaide.
In Adelaide, classes run Monday, Tuesday and Wednesday from 8:30–12:30 and 1:00–5:00. In Melbourne, there are two options: Option 1 follows the same schedule as Adelaide (Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, morning and afternoon), while Option 2 runs Tuesday, Friday and Saturday across both afternoon and evening/morning timeslots. Students are required to attend 20 hours of scheduled training plus 4 hours of structured learning activities with trainer support per week.
After achieving the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management, graduates may choose to undertake the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management or continue their education in a range of higher education qualifications in hospitality.
Students must have a valid IELTS score of 5.5 Bands OR PTE score of 42 OR Cambridge score 162 OR TOEFL iBT 46 OR its equivalent (completed a minimum 10-weeks General English Course of Upper-Intermediate Level) within the last 3 calendar years, OR have completed an Australian Qualification from AQF Level 3 to Advanced Diploma AQF Level 6, OR have successfully completed an Australian Equivalent Year 12 qualification within the last 3 calendar years.
Yes. Learners must be physically fit to carry or lift up to a maximum load of 5kgs, as this may be required during practical training. Learners must also be able to handle and cook dairy products and non-vegetarian food items including but not limited to beef and pork. Additionally, students must have a basic level of fitness allowing them to work on their feet during work placement shifts.
