Diploma of Hospitality Management

The Diploma of Hospitality Management helps you develop a broad range of hospitality skills combined with managerial skills and sound knowledge of the industry, so you can coordinate hospitality operations. Graduates operate independently, take responsibility for others and make a range of operational business decisions. The program runs over 67 weeks, with 20 hours of face-to-face training per week across 57 weeks of study and a 10-week break; students who have already completed relevant units through Recognition of Prior Learning or Credit Transfer may finish sooner. Entry requires Year 12 VCE (or its overseas equivalent) and/or completion of the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, together with evidence of English proficiency such as an IELTS score of 6.0. Training is delivered face-to-face at VACTS's Sydney Road campus in Coburg, which includes a fully equipped commercial kitchen where the practical component of the course is delivered. The Diploma is the highest hospitality qualification offered by Victorian Academy of Commerce and Technology Startups (VACTS), building on the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery and Certificate IV in Kitchen Management, and reflects the institute's broader focus on vocational training for students pursuing careers in cookery and hospitality.
