The total course fee is AUD $30,000, plus a non-refundable enrolment fee of $250 (to be paid on application) and material fees of $2,500. Additional non-tuition fees may also apply and can be found in the International Student Handbook. Course fees do not include laptops or software.
Yes, this course requires you to complete a work placement. Students are required to complete 48 service periods to meet the requirements of the unit SITHCCC043* Work effectively as a cook. Service period hours are 4 hours each, and therefore students will be required to complete 192 hours of work placement. Ausford College will assist you to find a work placement, or you may find your own.
You are required to have an IELTS score of 6.0 (test results must be no more than 2 years old). English language competence can also be demonstrated through documented evidence of having been educated for 5 years in an English-speaking country, or through other English language tests such as PTE and TOEFL, provided the results are equivalent to IELTS 6.0.
You must bring your own laptop with Office 365 (or a similar program) to all classes. For PC users, a minimum of an Intel® or AMD 64-bit processor at 2 GHz or faster, Windows 10, 4 GB RAM, and 3.1 GB hard disk space is required. For Mac users, a multicore Intel processor with macOS 10.12 or later and 2 GB RAM (8 GB recommended) is required. The approximate cost of a suitable laptop is $450, and Office 365 costs $129 annually. These costs are not included in course fees.
Yes, you can apply for recognition of existing qualifications or skills, knowledge, and experience (credit transfer or recognition of prior learning) as per the information included in the International Student Handbook. If you are granted course credit, this will affect your course fees as well as the duration of your course, and you will be advised in writing of any changes and issued with a new Confirmation of Enrolment.
