The total course fee for the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management (SIT60322) is $24,250 AUD, which includes a tuition fee of $24,000 AUD and an application fee of $250 AUD.
The course duration is 104 weeks full time, including work placement and 22 weeks of holidays (including Christmas and New Year's break).
Students are required to complete 144 hours of work placement. Specifically for the unit SITHCCC043 – Work effectively as a cook, students must complete a minimum of 48 complete service periods in a commercial kitchen, covering a combination of Breakfast, Lunch, and Dinner, and preparing items from at least two different menu styles such as à la carte, Buffet, Set Menu, or Cyclical.
Students completing SIT60322 – Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management can continue studying either other VET Graduate Diploma programs such as BSB80320 – Graduate Diploma of Strategic Leadership, or directly apply into a Bachelor program in Hotel Management or Hospitality Management. Career pathways include roles as highly skilled senior managers coordinating hospitality operations across employers such as restaurants, hotels, motels, catering operations, clubs, pubs, cafés, and coffee shops.
Applicants must demonstrate an English Language proficiency level equivalent to one of the following: Cert III in EAL or Academic IELTS band score of 6 or equivalent; satisfactorily completed ELICOS at at least Upper Intermediate level; evidence as prescribed by the Department of Education, Skills and Employment; or completion within the past 2 years in Australia of either the requirements for senior secondary certificate of education or a substantial component of AQF level 4 or higher on a student visa.
