The total course duration is 80 weeks, which is calculated on 20 hours per week of face-to-face training for 66 weeks, plus 14 weeks of allocated term break.
Applicants must meet a minimum IELTS score of 6.0, or a PTE score of 52, or hold a Certificate IV in EAL or equivalent. In the absence of formal English qualifications, Glen Institute may offer an English Placement Test.
The course is delivered face to face at two locations: 172 Victoria Street, Richmond, VIC 3121 (kitchen location) and Level 5, 310 King Street, Melbourne VIC 3000 (delivery location).
Individuals may enter the Diploma of Hospitality Management after completing the Certificate III in Commercial Cookery as well as the Certificate IV in Kitchen Management. After achieving the Diploma of Hospitality Management, individuals could progress to the Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management qualification.
Yes. The full set of chef's uniforms featuring the Glen Institute logo must be purchased directly from the Institute (measurements are taken during Orientation). Students must be physically able to perform assessment tasks in a kitchen and/or simulated environment and are required to undertake a Pre-Course Physical Examination during Orientation. Candidates should also be able to handle and cook dairy products and non-vegetarian food items including pork, and coursework may involve alcohol.
