This dynamic field offers opportunities to work in hotels, restaurants, cafés, conference centres, private catering companies, healthcare environments, tourism, and travel venues. These courses provide students with practical skills and industry knowledge to work internationally across various sectors of hospitality. Students will also develop specialised management skills in sales and marketing, human resources, financial management, and business operations. Students learn through a blend of face-to-face and online learning using digital resources, textbooks, teacher support, and the eLearn platform. Located at CIT Woden Campus.

Academic Requirements: Completion of Year 12 or equivalent. Students over 20 years of age may be eligible for adult entry. English Language Requirements: IELTS: Overall 6.0 (no band lower than 5.5); PTE Academic: 50 (minimum 42 in each band); Cambridge English (C1 Advanced or B2 First): 169. Applicants not studying on a student visa but holding a temporary visa for the full course duration must demonstrate Australian Core Skills Framework Level 2 in reading, writing, learning, oral communication, and numeracy.

How long is the Diploma of Hospitality Management and when can I start?

The Diploma of Hospitality Management has a duration of 6 months (1 semester) with a study load of minimum 20 hours per week. Intake dates for 2026 are Semester 1 – February and Semester 2 – July.

Yes. Students are required to complete 36 service periods (216 hours) of industry placement as part of the course. With support from CIT teachers, students may also gain casual employment opportunities in the hospitality industry to complement their studies.
