The course has a total duration of 65 weeks, which includes 37 weeks of tuition delivery and 8 weeks (224 hours) of work placement, along with scheduled breaks.
The tuition fee is $5,600.00 (only offered packaged with SIT50422). Additional costs include a Material Fee of $200.00 (including kitchen ingredients and learning resources), a Non-Refundable Enrolment Fee of $250.00, and a Non-Refundable Application Fee of $250.00. Students will also need to purchase their own uniform and kitchen kit from SSBT designated hospitality shop partners.
All students enrolled in this course must undertake 180 hours of work placement at an approved hospitality venue. Work placement must be completed successfully in order to gain this qualification. During the work placement period, students on a subclass 500 visa may work unlimited hours, as this work experience forms a mandatory component of the course and is included in the CRICOS registration.
After achieving the SIT50422 Diploma of Hospitality Management, individuals could progress to the SIT60322 Advanced Diploma of Hospitality Management, which is available at SSBT.
Overseas students must demonstrate English language proficiency of IELTS 6.0 or equivalent. Students with no formal qualifications are required to successfully complete the LLN test and meet with the Training Manager to be admitted.
