You will learn how to perform cyber security risk assessments, promote best practices in cybersecurity, identify and protect critical infrastructure for organisations, manage network security, gather, analyse and interpret cyber-security threat data, design, build and test network servers and security architecture, develop and implement incident response plans, and review and update disaster recovery and contingency plans. You will also develop personal skills such as problem-solving, analytical thinking, critical thinking, and leading and managing a team.
Every student will need to demonstrate completion of Australian Year 12 or equivalent, attaining IELTS 6.0 English language equivalence if a non-native English speaker, and being aged over 18.
The course runs for 78 weeks, including 21 weeks of scheduled breaks. Please refer to the Academic Calendar for dates of breaks.
On completion of the ICT50220 Diploma of Information Technology (Cyber Security), students may pursue the ICT60220 Advanced Diploma of Information Technology, BSB60120 Advanced Diploma of Business, or BSB60420 Advanced Diploma of Leadership and Management at WIN College. Students may also progress to a Bachelor of Information Technology (Network Security) or a Bachelor of Information Technology (Data Infrastructure) at Wentworth Institute of Higher Education, or related undergraduate courses at other institutions and universities.
